Genzui Ramen Bar is one of my go-to places when I don’t know what I want to eat and don’t want to spend too much money (gotta love the poor student life). It also holds a special place in my heart because it was where my boyfriend and I had our very first date!
Since 2014, I have been back here numerous times and I have loved every single dish that I’ve tried. If you love Japanese Ramen and Donburis’ then this is the place for you. Genzui is super affordable, has generous portions, staff are super friendly and its location is close to Uni. It’s a win-win for sure.
Here are some dishes I would recommend:
Katsu Don (Pork or Chicken) – $10 (pork pictured above)
Teriyaki Tofu Don – $9. This is one of my absolute favourites!
Curry Katsu Don – $10
Deep-fried Gyoza – $6
Takoyaki – $6
Spicy Shio Ramen – $10 (pictured above)
This restaurant is definitely worth trying out if you’re in the area. They have an extensive ramen collection. Service is really quick and the ramen and donburi’s are so filling. The only downside is that the place can be hard to find if you haven’t been before (next door to the Crowne Plaza). There isn’t a lot of seating so get in quick! It is the perfect place to pop by for a quick feed before smashing out last minute assignments or before you catch a movie.
