My bus goes past this cafe every morning on my daily commute to Uni. After hearing so many good things about this place and the mass amount of instagram photos that have popped up on my feed, I knew I had to check it out.
My group of friends and I decided to come here after the place we originally agreed to meet at was closed. When we walked in, we were promptly greeted by staff and seated. This place is actually a lot bigger than it appears, with another room at the back with tables for larger groups.
After ordering, the food came very promptly even though the cafe was quite packed. I was super impressed with the set up of the breakfast board ($22). How cute is the little pan? However, for the price paid, I felt like the portions were smaller compared to other cafes.
I ordered the fenugreek potatoes ($17.50) which I thought was pretty good. Although the taste of the whipped feta overpowered the rest of the dish, it was still quite enjoyable overall. However, no one does potatoes quite like Meadow! My friends ordered the mushroom medly ($19) and the classic eggs benedict ($18.50).
One thing I personally wouldn’t recommend would be their passion fruit ice tea. It tasted watered down and wasn’t to my liking. 100% based on looks.
The highlight of our meals were actually the desserts from their cabinet. Seriously, how can you resist when they look this good?
From the few things I tried, my absolute favourite was the green tea and chocolate slice! The matcha was superb and tasted amazing with the chocolate. You have to try it!
Overall I had a very enjoyable experience here and will definitely be making some stopovers on my way to lectures.
