Anybody else feel those holiday blues whenever you come back home? That’s exactly how I feel right now after spending five and half amazing days away at the Gold Coast. This trip was quite spontaneous and we were so excited because it was the first time both my boyfriend and I were travelling without our families.
We stayed at the Meriton Serviced Apartments in Southport. This place is away from all the madness of Surfers paradise and Broadbeach but still has some killer views. Located conveniently above a supermarket and right next to a tram station – you will definitely be cutting back on costs of food and transport! No need to uber as the tram takes you to all the key locations. We stayed in the Hinterland suite, which had a fully equipped kitchen which was great as we wouldn’t have to eat out for every meal!
Other facilities include: Indoor and outdoor pool, gym, BBQ and a sauna. These were all shared with other residents staying there.
Movie World – lots of thrilling rides, heaps of souvenir shops and places to eat
Wet n Wild – awesome rides! My favourite was the tornado. Would recommend bringing your own food as there isn’t many options
Sea World – Come here to check out some cute animals. They also take in many animals that have been injured and help nurse them back to health! Lots of souvenir shops, would recommend bringing food as well as there aren’t too many options
Pacific Fair – This will satisfy all your shopping needs and you feel like you’re staying at a resort at the same time! It’s a win win. We mostly shopped at Uniqlo as they don’t have a store here in NZ and don’t ship here either.
Moto Moto Japanese Kitchen – They have the most amazing curry. We came back two days in a row because that’s just how good it was. 100% recommend. I wish I had some photos to share but I was too immersed in the food.
